How DO you "square" John 10:10 with John 16:22? The truth is that the many false prophets of our world today know nothing of what Dr. Luther called the theology of the cross. They refuse to consider suffering as a part of the Christian's life. Yet the Christian's hope is in Christ and the heaven which He has prepared for us on the other side of our awful sufferings. Note carefully the Second Reading for today's worship, too. May the Lord bless your worship here and guard you safe in faith until you are safe in heaven forever.
